Clay Talks STEM, Space, and Leadership on Local Radio Stations
Ashland, NE – Clayton Anderson, retired NASA astronaut and President/CEO of the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum, recently made an appearance on local radio stations The Best Mix 105.5 FM and Big Dog 98.9 FM. The interview, hosted by Chris Walz, delved into Anderson’s journey from Ashland, Nebraska, to space and back, his commitment to STEM education, and his leadership at the SAC Aerospace Museum.
In the interview, Anderson highlighted his passion for inspiring the next generation of explorers through science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education. He also shared stories from his time aboard the International Space Station and discussed how his Nebraska roots have shaped his approach to leadership and education at the museum.
“Returning to Ashland to lead this museum feels like coming home,” Anderson said during the interview. “I’m passionate about bringing the excitement of aerospace and space exploration to our local community and beyond.”
The conversation also touched on Anderson’s authorship of two books, his ongoing educational outreach, and the museum’s latest developments, including new interactive exhibits and virtual reality simulators aimed at inspiring visitors of all ages.
