Francis Gary Powers

Survey the artifacts of U-2 pilot Francis Gary Powers who was part of the CIA-sponsored reconnaissance mission, “Operation Overflight”, and shot down in Soviet Airspace. The incident, his experience in captivity, and the real story declassified decades later are captured through the items on display highlighting this critical Cold War event.
