Swing Under the Wings

The Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum Transports Guest Back-in-Time with a 40’s themed Valentine’s Day Dinner

ASHLAND, NE (December 18, 2018) – The Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum announces its annual Swing Under the Wings dinner and dance to be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 with an event that is full of fun and nostalgia.

Guests are transported back to a time when swing music filled the airwaves and World War II consumed the nation. Swing Under the Wings is an opportunity to relive the best of the 1940s as guests dine and dance under the wings of historic aircraft such as the Douglas C-47 Skytrain and Boeing B-29 Superfortress.

Robert Glaser’s 10 piece Sing, Sing, Swing Orchestra will set the mood for this USO-themed party with their big band sounds. Guests are encouraged to dress in their 1940s best. Prizes are given throughout the night including a prize awarded for the best dressed.

The evening will begin at 5 pm with a free one hour dance lesson. Dance lessons are taught by Elina Pierce and Matthew Newman, who have been dancing with the DelRay Ballroom since 2014. Dinner will begin at 6 pm followed by the dance from 7-11 pm. Tickets are available for $60 per person for the 6 pm dinner, dessert and dance ticket or $50 per person for the 7 pm timeframe, which includes dessert and dance. There is a cash bar with a mixologist mixing up a 1940’s specialty drink. Discounts apply for members.
