Spring Fling and Helicopter Egg Drop
at the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum

ASHLAND, NE (Feb 15, 2018) – On March 10, 2018, the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum will hold a Spring Fling that will prove to be fun for the entire family.

The Spring Fling begins at 10 a.m. with a helicopter fly over at the front entrance of the Museum. The helicopter will drop thousands of eggs onto the grassy area and youth years ten and under will be invited to hunt and gather eggs. The kids will be separated into two age groups, of up to 5 years old, and six to 10 years old. The Museum will offer hands-on activities indoors until 12 p.m. Activities include a picture with the Easter Bunny, face painting, coloring contest raffle, and a make-and-take.

Prize giveaway – there will be an Easter basket given to one participate in the coloring contest raffle. Each contestant will receive a ticket after completing and hanging his or her picture. The prizewinner, selected by random selection of tickets, will receive a basket at 11:50 a.m.

The outdoor egg hunt is free and general admission applies to those entering the Museum. The Spring Fling event, Children’s Learning Center activities, and Energy Explorers exhibit are included with general admission.


About the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum – Located between Lincoln and Omaha near Interstate 80, utilizes over 300,000 square feet of exhibit, education, and event space. Organized in 1959, the original mission of the museum was to commemorate the contributions of the Strategic Air Command, which until 1992 was headquartered at Offutt Air Force Base. The Museum moved to its current location in 1998 upon completion of a new indoor facility. The Museum houses an impressive collection of military aircraft and space artifacts, many of which have been restored in the Museum’s on-site restoration facility. To better serve the community, the museum offers STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education opportunities for students, teachers, families, and adult learners. Traveling exhibits, permanent exhibits, and a variety of special events provide additional unique experiences for the museum’s members and guests.

General admission is $12 adults, $11 military and seniors, $6 youth 3-12, and free for youth under age 3. Guests must register in advance for the 12 p.m. Get Smart Saturday workshop.
