Competitive Drone Racing and Free Fun Fly June 10, 2017
ASHLAND, NE. (May 4, 2017)– The Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum will hold a drone race and free fun fly on June 10 2017 for unmanned aerial pilots interested in flying “drones” a.k.a. quadcopters.
Pilots from around the region are invited to register for the race held on the Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum’s racing course. Participants can register the “Racing Class” for a fee of $25.00 on the museum’s website. Participants will be combined into heats of five all of the same weight class to race against the clock. Each heat will have a winner and the finalists will compete for the $75.00 first prize, $50.00 second prize, and $25.00 third prize.
The race registration deadline is June 1, 2017 and is limited and capped at 28 pilots. Registration check-in, safety checks, and opening ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. The event will culminate with an award ceremony and pilots are welcome to try the course with any remote controlled aircraft. The free fun fly time is open until 5:00 p.m. when the museum closes.
